Christmas is coming!!!

Last week was so busy but tons of fun!  On Monday last week Ste called and asked, "So, what are you plans for tonight?"  I said the typical homework.  He then told me, "Well, your husband is probably going to be outside of Costa Vida all night tonight."

Costa Vida was giving out free food for a year to the first 50 people in line.  They were opening their doors Tuesday morning at 10:30 so people had to spend the night in order to make the cutoff.  Ste was just going to go with some friends because he didn't think I would want to go.  Well, I didn't want to be home alone so I decided I would buck up and go.  It was so worth it!!!

We ended up being 39 and 40 in line.  The guy next to us had gone to the Spanish Fork opening and was planning to go to the the Lehi opening.  He is a die hard fan if ya couldn't tell.  He had a nice little heater that he pointed on us so we didn't complain.  The only thing that was difficult was when I woke up at 6am and had to pee super bad.  I decided to drive to WalMart.  Well,  that was unnecessary because Starbucks had opened just around the corner of the building. Oh well.  Doors opened right on time! We were given this little card... notice anything wrong with it??

There are two number 15s! Oh ya!! One extra free meal!! haha We also got a meal that morning for free.  It was pretty great.  However, I did go to work right after and threw up.  Totally worth it though.

Grandpa needed some help getting the rest of their walnuts off the tree.  We first attempted to climb the tree but it was super wet and my pants were too right so we decided to use a piece of wood.  That worked out great but then we needed the walnuts that were higher... soo... grandpa decided to clamp a super long window washer to the end of it.  It was awesome.  We then got a softball to through up and hit more down.  It was super fun.

So last week of Thanksgiving!!! My parents came to town and it was tons of fun! Ste dragged me out to my first experience of Black Friday.  We went to the Sports Authority because they were giving out giftcards ranging from $10-$500 to the first 80 people in line on Thanksgiving night at 6pm and again on Friday at 6am.  We only got $10 each every time but the first time we witnessed a lady backing into a car (the only car behind her) in the parking lot.  It was pretty funny.  The second time.....

My dad joined us!!! We also got our picture in the Daily Herald. In the picture we were quite happy looking.  Why? Because dad was telling about his drug days.  Also, when the photographer asked our names dad said, "Ken.  Ken Nelson."  Darn reporter didn't put our names in the article, though. So lame.

Ste and I also got our first Christmas tree together!! We decided smaller was best. Mostly because it came with a stand.  And yes... the tree is on our kitchen table. We never use it anyway.  WE LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!

My aunt Mary made these suuuuper cute stockings too!! We love them!!!!

Temple Square, Family, and SIX MONTHS!!

A couple weekends ago Ste's parents came out here.  His mom is really into family history and she has a couple friends that love it too.  They came out to go to the new genealogy lab for a couple days.  Ste got to take his dad to the Boise vs. BYU game and on Saturday we got to take some tour of Temple Square.  We toured the Beehive House, the new Family Search building, and the visitor center.  If you haven't taken these tours and get a chance, do them!! It was great listening to the stories, watching the videos, and listening to the missionaries.

We missed out on a couple other tours on Temple Square but we still had a great time.  It was awesome having his parents here to spend some time with them!!

Ste and I also hit our  month anniversary!!! Crazy that it has been that long already! (okay, so like 6 1/2 now haha).  It has been a ton of fun and I am so grateful for his example, testimony, and love that he has for me.  I am definitely the luckiest girl.

We have been enjoying watching and playing sports.  Ste and his soccer team are starting their tournament next week.  I am on an intramural volleyball team but I hurt my knee again in one of our games so I don't know when I will play again. Is it weird that I am getting used to this? haha Oh well, I enjoy being a cheerleader, too!

He had some awesome steam coming off him... ;)

Ste and I are VERY anxiously awaiting Christmas.  We are SOOO EXCITED! I am really tempted to put up our wreath and we have actually started our Christmas shopping. We are so excited.

Dunks, Birthdays, Games, and Quilting!

The past couple months have been busy! We have been trying to keep up with school, work, intramurals, and volunteering.  But we always find time for some fun!!

We have been enjoying the football games!! They have these new nacho bowls that are shaped like the stadium. So cool. The nachos were too good to stop eating and take a picture...

So, I finally got off Sundays at work.  But, this still happened at church...

While in Hawaii, my mom and I started some super cute place mats.  I loooove the fabric she chose and I barely finished them.  Thanks mom!!!

One of Ste's friend from home got married a few weeks ago and we were able to see them at the reception.  They had a chocolate fondue fountain... yummmm chocolate covered strawberries... The guys decided on the chocolate covered pretzel sticks instead.

I have been needing a hair cut soooo bad.  However, I don't trust people here and I don't like paying for hair cuts. So, one night I asked Ste to help me cut my hair.  We both like it so I guess it turned out well!!

Alex had a birthday!! We went to Wingers. He loved his ice cream after bottomless wings.. well he would have if he hadn't eaten so much.  Happy Birthday Alex!!

On Friday night we wen to the BYU Booms Shakalaka- dunk contest. It was awesome to see BYU players doing dunks! You don't see it often enough...

Click here to see the dunks!

Anyway.. We are are doing great! Coming up on our 6 MONTHS! Was that seriously that long ago??

B-Y-U

School has officially begun! I am working part time now and going to school and Ste is studying hard in his program! He has been super busy but doing so well.  On Tuesday he went to a conference and met a few people that worked at big accounting firms.  We are trying to decide where and what we want to do for our internships next summer.  I haven't been able to hear back from the internship coordinator but Stewart is going to be applying to places this week so I need to get on it and make sure there is a place that I can do mine! We will have to see what happens and where we could possibly go!

During the last couple months, Ste, grandpa, and I have been building a bookshelf! Okay, so mostly Ste and grandpa.  I am usually taking pictures, sanding, or holding stuff while they cut.  I am not very good on the saws so I was there for support, mostly. It was so much fun though and I love having the bookshelf! In our little apartment it really made a different in our storage space! Thank you grandpa!!!

Last weekend was the Texas and BYU football game.  Ste and I were on our way but once we hit Brick Oven, branches started falling, wind was pushing us forward, and we were getting soaked.  We made it to the bathrooms by the tennis courts to be covered from it all, mostly.  We watched people run by for about half an hour then decided to go back and wait until the weather cleared up.  The storm was awesome and I am so happy we weren't at the stadium when it hit.  When we were walking to the game the second time there were so many people walking to the their cars or home completely soaked and looking miserable.  Definitely happy we did it the way we did!  BYU won and it was so much fun to watch.

I also got the chance to see Joel before he left on his mission!!! I am so proud of him!

Hawaii!

This last month has been a busy one but so much fun!  Ste finished up Summer term and we took a two weeks off of work to do some traveling!  We drove out to Orangevale, CA for our friends' wedding- Brock and Mary Kate.  On our way out there we stopped at a way good mexican place.  We thought the logo was hilarious.

Their wedding was beautiful and they both looked great! We were both part of the bridal party. It was so much fun to be a part of their big day!

Next stop- Hawaii!!! We got to join my parents on an awesome trip to Kauai.  Neither of us had been to Hawaii and we were so excited!

We went to the Grand Canyon of Hawaii- This first picture wasn't it but it was still a cool shot.

While driving to and from places I would always fall asleep and Ste would have too much fun bothering me and taking pictures...

Here are the pictures of the Hawaiian Grand Canyon! :)

On our way back we stopped at a few places.  This was a trading place with this picture booth outside.  We also stopped at a Kauai Kookie Factory.  THEY ARE SO GOOD! The lady let us try so many cookies and had us try all the kinds we wanted to buy before buying them.  She is way too good at her job because we bought maybe.... 12+ boxes plus a huge bag of the guava cookies.  They are shortbread cookies.  The other flavors we got were coconut, peanut butter, chocolate chip, pineapple, and normal.  SO GOOD!!!

Mom and dad also took us to a sweet luau.  Great food and entertainment! Also, an awesome sunset!

We went snorkeling every day we were there.  Ste's parents let us take their snorkeling gear and we definitely got great use out of it!   We also decided to buy a digital underwater camera after we used a disposable camera and they turned out terrible. :) Definitely worth it! And we can use it in dusty and cold places too! WOO!

We also met Gill from Finding Nemo.  This was on of Ste's favorite fish because he totally looks like a cartoon character with this eyes.

This was also one of our favorites. it was so cool!

This fish stayed in front of Ste forever like it was posing for him.

Before we got this camera we also swam with some turtles!! I was actually kinda scared the first time we saw them because it was really weird being in the water with them. haha I warmed up to them though.  So cool!

We went on a hike to the Hanakapapaieosomething Falls.  It was an 8mile round trip hike and totally worth it!!! We got to swim under the waterfall there-one of Ste's goals in life.  It was awesome! At the beginning of the trail there was a like forest ranger that tried to talk us out of going to the falls by saying the second half the trail (after a beach where a lot of people stopped)  was unmarked and unmaintained and there were times where there wasn't even a trail.  Totally not true.  It was super easy to find our way and plenty of people along the way.  It was an AWESOME hike!

Here's the falls!!!

This is Ste going directly under the falls with the camera. So cool!!

This was my favorite fish. It's awesome!

We flew back into California so we were able to spend more time with Ste's side of the family.  Niece and nephew time so much fun!

This birthday girl!

Ste had fun trying to make his dad's flying helicopter fly!

So I have been into sewing lately.  I tried quilting my first quilt... ya.. I made a huge mistake.  Oh well.  I will learn! haha
