I know I have a ton to catch up on so I am just going to start with Christmas!
Stewart and I were so ready for a nice break from school and work and get on the road! We didn't want to take our presents up to Washington so we were the masters of Christmas and decided it would be just fine to open presents early! He completely spoiled me. I got a whole new cookware set, new running clothes, a Ninja food processor and blender, and new shirts.
On our way up to Washington to spend Christmas with my family, we stopped for the night in Boise with Lori (Stewart's sister) and her family. It was lots of fun to spend the night with her and her girls.
Christmas this year was a little different than I have ever experienced haha KC was coming in later Christmas day so we saved everything for when he got there. Instead, Christmas morning we headed to Aaron and DeAndra's to see the kids open the presents we helped wrap and put together. It was tons of fun watching Ryker open his stocking because he got so excited about his oranges. After they were done we went home and mom made ???. So good!!! We were pretty lazy the rest of the day but busy finishing wrapping presents and getting stocking stuffers all figured out.
Throughout our trip we made cider, of course. So fun as always!
When everyone was finally ready to start Christmas festivities we started with the traditional homemade pizza by my mother! So good, as always. We then listened to a story. Every year my mom chooses a different book that she reads on Christmas Eve night. It is definitely different with many little kids around haha My favorite is when my parents read about Christ's birth after the story.
After that, it was time for presents! My parents helped supply us for our future camping and backpacking trips with a JetBoil and a double sleeping bag! My mom also gave us the quilt she made for our wedding. It is beautiful!
Lindsea had me for Christmas this year and got me one of the most meaningful gifts I have ever received. She copied these three from a cookbook that my grandma used to have. The one I first saw was the one with my grandma's writing saying, "Enjoy your happy life together." Since Ste and I just got married this year, this gift couldn't have been given at a better time. It made me miss them but know that a part of them is still with me and I can't wait to see them again.
We also went shooting quite a few times. Thank you dad, Nick, and Aaron for letting us waste some bullets and clay pigeons!
The launcher we used kept breaking the clay pigeons so Ste volunteered to become the new launcher. Gotta say, he did pretty darn good.
We made some awesome cookies, too!
It was great to see tons of family, including baby Kassidy! And Lindsea and Travis decided to change the baby blessing to the Sunday that we were all there. So fun to be there for that!
Hudson was a little scared of me...
Found out Jens can take selfies...
Dad took us up in helicopter before it was sent over to Seattle for a while. It was the first time I got sick... so disappointed in myself.. haha we saw some pretty cool sheep and deer though!
On our way back to Provo we stopped at Lori's again for a couple nights. Her family is tons of fun and we enjoyed seeing them.
We went to the Boise Beltway and saw some fish. Stewart even tried talking like a fish.
Stewart and I enjoyed a fun date day when we got back into town. We went on a nice walk in the morning, bought our books for the semester (my LAST semester WOOHOO!!), went to the temple, got some food from Chipotle (pretty sure it was my first time ever going), became members at REI, and stopped by Scheels. We then went home and watched Lost for a couple hours. haha It was so much fun, but today we have to get back to real life of work and homework (Stewart has homework already.. lame).
